The Granite Ridge Standard

Quality, Health & Lifetime Support

At Granite Ridge Labradors, we believe that bringing a puppy into your home is a decade-plus commitment. That’s why our mission is centered on a single principle: Health and quality over everything else. We aren't just breeding dogs; we are stewards of the Labrador Retriever, ensuring each puppy is structurally sound, genetically clear, and ready to thrive as a member of your family.

Our Health Commitment

We go far beyond "vet checked." Before any breeding takes place, our Sires and Dams undergo rigorous screening to ensure they are passing on the best possible foundation:

  • Extensive Genetic Testing: We utilize comprehensive DNA panels (Embark) to screen for over 200 genetic health conditions and to manage the Coefficient of Inbreeding (COI).

  • OFA Certifications: All of our breeding dogs receive OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) x-rays. We specifically clear for Hips, Elbows, and Joints to ensure we are producing puppies with the best possible structural integrity.

Our goal is for your new family member to have received top quality care, including high-quality salmon & brown rice-based puppy food, Nutri-Vet vitamins & Missing Link powder supplements. This ensures your puppy is in excellent health at time of delivery.

Our health commitment covers:

  • Hip & Elbow Dysplasia until 26 months of age

  • Genetic diseases until 26 months of age

  • All life-altering genetic disease until 26 months of age

  • Congenital defects until 12 months of age

  • All viruses for 3 days from the date the puppy is received

It is important that the puppy is examined by a certified veterinarian within five days of the date the purchaser receives the puppy.

🐾 The Journey to Your New Best Friend

Our application process is designed to match the right puppy with the right lifestyle. Here is what you can expect when you join the Granite Ridge family:

  1. The Application: Complete our [Online Application Form]. We review each submission to understand your home environment and what you are looking for in a Labrador.

  2. Consultation: After review, we may reach out with follow-up questions. If everything looks like a good fit, we schedule a Meet & Greet (in-person for locals or a Video Call for long-distance families).

  3. Reservation: Once approved, a deposit is required to hold your puppy and secure your place in the litter.

  4. Going Home: Puppies transition to their new homes starting at 8 weeks old.

The Granite Ridge "Go-Home" Kit

We want your first week to be about bonding, not running to the store. Every puppy leaves our home with a premium starter kit:

  • Nutrition: A full week’s supply of puppy food and a bag of Missing Link Puppy Nutritional Powder.

  • Supplements: A supply of Nutri-Vet puppy vitamins to support their growing immune system.

  • Comfort: A new collar and a toy that smells like their littermates to ease the transition.

  • Essentials: Puppy training pads and an AKC puppy pamphlet with vaccination records.

  • Registration: Your AKC litter registration certificate and individual AKC number (Limited or Full registration provided based on approval).

Health & Vaccinations: Your puppy will be current on all age-appropriate vaccinations. We provide a detailed medical folder including a schedule for the vaccinations they will need throughout their first year.
